The city is littered with gray boxes, advertising pillars, pipes, antennas and barred openings that grow like mushrooms on an opaque underground under the guise of urban infrastructures. In his installation "Submarines", Peter Behrbohm creates an immersive narrative that invites visitors on a journey of discovery into the underground. As it turns out, manhole covers, bollards, foundation remains, kiosks, ventilation shafts, transformer housings, etc. have long since seemed to belong together, contrary to expectations.
The everyday parts of the city merely serve as camouflaged feelers, snorkels or entrances to a dystopian parallel world. A system of nightmares has grown underground before the eyes of the public, serving as a retreat for those trying to escape the nervous times. What is the underground plan? Are the spaces in contact with each other? Is the need even part of the network?

Klangtour Kunst is an audio walk which was developed and implemented on behalf of the UNESCO World Heritage Zeche Zollverein. The aim was to create an individual approach to art, nature and history at Zollverein for a broad audience. In a research process lasting several weeks, we participated in guided tours, made sound samples, field recordings, interviews and sound compositions and put them together in an audiowalk.
The audiowalk is now part of the Foundation's education program since April 2022 and provides information and artistic access to the sculptures, artworks, the flora and fauna of the site and the history of mining on an auditory and performative level.

The family roots of a family are one thing. In this case, they include Ural Russians, Polish Jews, East Frisians, Lübeckers, Mecklenburgers, as well as later Danes and Swedes, and a North German grandfather. Thanks to his memories of Hamburg as a child and youth, which he wrote down in the early 1980s as a retiring East Berliner looking back, access to a Hamburg between 1906 and 1918 is opened up. With sensitivity and anecdotes, he brings to mind places and situations, social, political and cultural issues.
The imagined reliving of a Hamburg of yesteryear raises questions. How do we live with the memories of our ancestors, how do we deal with them without destroying, glossing over or simply dismissing them? It is also about the fragility of memories, and about shifts in their evaluation. Don't older people in particular feel the need to reconcile themselves with memories and let them appear in a milder light? And against this background, what do we do with our own, sometimes contradictory feelings and perceptions?

The audio piece is the first result of a joint, open working process between burgund t brandt, Daniel Kupferberg, Theda Weber-Lucks and Nadelør. Visual artist Daniel Kupferberg researched texts and locations during an artist residency in Hamburg in autumn 2020. The recordings for the audio piece were made by him in spring 2021. In various readings together with vocal performer Theda Weber-Lucks, the text was developed and explored in terms of content and sound.

The Pigeon - Loop (2021) is a vignette where 3 characters: an empty gallery space, a cleaner and a pigeon are interlocked in an absurd loop.
